Snacking Sanderling: A sanderling forages amongst the patches of algae growing on the sandstone cliffs and tide pools at South Casa Beach in La Jolla, CA. Egrets in the Surf: A female snowy egret is approached by an male in full display.  Despite the show of feathers, she's just not interested. Great Blue Heron: Awash in the setting sun.
