Bug Hunt

07/11/201009/16/2010 | Tim Herrin

Inspired by last week’s Gizmodo Shooting Challenge, I decided to try and capture some bug photos from around the farm.  So I grabbed my 100mm macro lens and outside I went in search of crawling critters.

I am happy to report that I found some.

See more images in my gallery.

Egrets in the Surf: A female snowy egret is approached by an male in full display. Despite the show of feathers, she's just not interested. Black-crowned Night Heron: Standing on the shore, a Black-crowned Night Heron (Nycticorax nycticorax) considers going in the water. Soon thereafter, he changes his mind.
